Making our way past Clear Lake onto the trail towards the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
After leaving Clear Lake, we passed through an area filled with a lot of geothermal activities. There were hot spring, mud pots and the distinct smell of rotten egg. The trek to get to the overlooking point of the canyon was more strenuous because of the uphill climb. If you want to avoid that, there are numerous parking spots that offer walking distance to see both the canyon and also the falls (Uncle Tom’s trail). The route we took was a loop that took us back to the Wapiti trailhead parking lot.
Trailhead taken: via Clear Lake
Difficulty: Moderate (2-3 hours, uphill climb)
